Most central-Oklahoma installs run three to five weeks from break-ground to swim. Here's what's happening on each.
"How long?" is one of the first questions every customer asks. The honest answer is three to five weeks for a typical install in central Oklahoma — but the variation matters, so here's the breakdown.
We dig the hole. We re-grade. If your yard slopes, we build the cut on the high side and a retaining wall on the low side. If you've got hard rock close to the surface (some of the Seminole County properties are like this), we may bring in a hydraulic breaker. This is the messiest week.
The Latham shell arrives on a flatbed. We set it with a crane, get it level to a sixteenth of an inch, and back-fill in compacted lifts. Then plumbing — main drain, returns, skimmer, and any add-ons like deck jets, spa overflow, or auto-cover housing. By the end of this week the pool is functionally ready to hold water.
This is where we form and pour the deck. Standard is broom-finish concrete; some customers go stamped, some travertine. The electrical sub goes in for the pump panel, lights, and any feature pumps. We're filling water by the end of the week.
Once the pool's full we balance the chemistry and run the pumps. Final cleanup, decking sealant, walkthrough on equipment use. By the time we hand it off you should know how to run the system, when to vacuum, what to look for in the chemistry, and who to call. (That's us.)
Permits in some municipalities. Long stretches of rain (we won't pour deck on saturated ground). Customer changes after we've started — those happen and we'll work them in, but they push the calendar. The shell itself doesn't slow us down; it's the variables around it.
