Warranty
Every pool we install is a Latham fiberglass shell, and Latham backs those shells with a lifetime structural and surface warranty. Here is what that covers, who stands behind it, and what we do if something goes wrong.
The shell
Lifetime structural warranty
The fiberglass structure itself is covered for life by Latham. It is a single molded piece built in factory conditions rather than assembled in your yard, which is the reason that warranty can exist at all.
The finish
Lifetime surface warranty
The gel coat interior carries a lifetime surface warranty against blistering and delamination. No liner to replace every seven to ten years, and no resurfacing the way a plaster pool needs.
Everything else
Covered by its own maker
Pumps, filters, heaters, lights and automation are warranted by the companies that make them, with terms that vary by part. We hand you that paperwork at handover and register what needs registering.
Latham is the manufacturer and the warranty is theirs. We are an authorized Latham dealer, which means we install to their specification and we are the people you call first. If something is wrong with the shell, we come and look at it, and we handle the claim with Latham on your behalf. You do not chase a manufacturer in another state.
Our own workmanship on the installation is separate from the manufacturer's warranty, and we stand behind it. If we got something wrong, we come back and fix it.
Worth being straight about this, because it is where most disputes start. Manufacturer warranties cover defects in the product. They do not cover damage from neglect, from letting water chemistry get badly out of range, from draining a pool at the wrong time, or from ground movement caused by something outside the pool itself. Keep the water balanced and the pool full, and you will not run into any of it.
A vinyl liner pool needs a new liner every seven to ten years or so, and that is a running cost rather than a warranty claim. A concrete or gunite pool needs resurfacing periodically. A fiberglass shell is designed to outlast both without either, which is why the lifetime warranty is possible in the first place.
Warranty terms are set by Latham and by each equipment manufacturer, and they can change. Ask us for the current warranty documents for the exact model you are considering and we will get them for you before you sign anything.
